Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 4, 2026Markdown Super is built on a simple principle: your notes are yours. The app collects no personal data, and this policy explains exactly what that means.
1. Data we collect
None. Markdown Super does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data. The app has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no crash-reporting SDKs, and no tracking of any kind. We have no servers, so there is nothing for your data to be sent to.
2. Where your notes live
Your notes are stored as plain Markdown files:
- On your device, in the app's local workspace; and
- In your personal iCloud account, if you enable iCloud sync.
iCloud storage is provided by Apple and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Your iCloud data is tied to your Apple Account and is not accessible to the developer. We cannot read, recover, or delete your notes. Only you can.
3. Purchases
Markdown Super offers one optional in-app purchase, Markdown Super Pro (a one-time, non-consumable purchase). All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. The developer never receives your name, payment details, or billing address. Apple may share aggregate, anonymized sales reports (for example, number of units sold per country), which contain no personal information.
4. Device permissions
- Photo Library (iOS/iPadOS, add-only): requested only when you choose to save an image from a note to your photo library, and used solely to add that image. The app cannot browse or read your existing photos.
- Files: used only to open or save Markdown documents you explicitly select.
5. Children's privacy
Markdown Super does not collect data from anyone, including children. The app is rated 4+ and contains no third-party content, ads, or external links inside the writing experience.
6. Your rights
Under privacy laws such as the GDPR (EU) and the LGPD (Brazil), you have rights over your personal data, including access, correction, and deletion. Because Markdown Super collects no personal data, there is nothing held by the developer to access, correct, or delete. Your notes remain under your direct control on your device and in your iCloud account, where you can edit or delete them at any time.
7. Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app ever changes how data is handled, this policy will be updated before that version ships, with the effective date revised above. Material changes will be highlighted in the app's release notes.
